Outsource Your Prep

As your Amazon business grows, there will be a point where you need to outsource some of the operations. Sourcing deals is usually the first to go, then prep is typically next on the list. Whether you need the space or need the time for other things, outsourcing your prep can help you scale, but only with the right business partner.

As we scaled our business and outsourced the prep, we found that some facilities lacked the processes to track every parcel and every product. Claims for missing items were tricky and losses were mostly unrecoverable.

Operating at such large volumes, Amazon can sometimes misplace products when they check them in and the truth is... without proof, you can’t challenge them. That's why our prep centre includes video evidence. We open every supplier delivery under video recording, from sealed box to empty box, and clients have immediate access to the recordings. We also video while we prepare every Amazon shipment – from empty box to sealed box, showing the packing list being ticked off for every ASIN.

Each box also includes the fully checked off packing list, and we also attach a label over the seal warning that the contents were packed under video surveillance and any missing items will be treated as theft.

So far there have still been a few products go ‘missing’ at Amazon but our clients have used the evidence to either claim reimbursements or Amazon have suddenly 'found' the items.

Each and every item in our prep centre is fully trackable - we know where everything is and we can send you photographs of your stock at any time.

Simple Pricing

We didn’t like the uncertainty about the prep bills each month – how much would we get charged for labels, polybags, bubble wrap, boxes, handling returns, etc. And don't forget to put money aside for the monthly fee as well.

So we reckoned things would be a lot simpler if we just charged one price for every product. However, if you send in a bundle that usually means higher fees. With us, it actually gets cheaper! We charge £1 for the first item, but then it's only 20p for every other item in the bundle - for example, if you send in a bundle or multipack of 4 items, we'll charge £1 plus 3 x 20p = £1.60. That works out at only 40p per item, and the bigger the bundle the lower the unit price.

And if you're doing wholesale, it gets even better. If you are currently shipping over 500 units a month from wholesalers, we can offer a unit price of 50p, with the same bundle deal. This assumes the units come in a few deliveries such as pallets or multiple boxes.

For OA prep, we charge £1 for every product you send us (we do not currently charge VAT).
If you are also a Deals Service or Wholesale prep client, that £1 is reduced to 50p per item or the first bundle item.
For every supplier delivery we receive, you will have immediate access to a video recording of the unpacking on a secure shared OneDrive folder.
For every Amazon shipment we prepare for you, you will again have access to a video recording of the preparation. We print off the packing slip and tick off the products as we pack them, scanning the barcodes on each one as we put them in the box. We then seal the box before we end the recording. You also get a photograph of each box with the Amazon and UPS labels.
